1. Economic Development

The commitment is to engage champions of NB industry, successful entrepreneurs, business experts and academia to develop economic development policies that will stimulate quality job creation through sound decision-making.

2. Embracing and Investing in Innovation

The commitment is to reward the entrepreneurial spirit with policies that encourage the use of technology, foster investment in research and development and reward innovation and productivity to create new competitive advantages for New Brunswick.
As well, to position the province as a knowledge hub, taking full advantage of our world-class post-secondary education institutions.

3. Population Growth and Immigration

The commitment is to improve our immigration and attraction activities to focus on skilled labour (globally and domestically); better retention rates for New Brunswickers and newcomers to the province; and the establishment of a greater number of successful businesses through our entrepreneur stream.
Research needs surround youth mobility; return migration patterns; a comprehensive analysis of the Provincial Nominee Program’s (PNP) impact on the economy and stimulating job creation; analysis/recommendations of how the PNP’s entrepreneur stream could be tailored to meet the Government’s commitment of investing in innovation.
