Function

The New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data & Training (NB-IRDT) has recently been established at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton campus. The NB-IRDT’s mandate is to support objective evidence-based policy formation and development through the application of statistical techniques to large administrative databases collected by the Department of Health and other provincial departments and agencies. Though the NB-IRDT staff and researchers will work closely with NB Government employees in a variety of ways, research is independent and arms-length from Government.

During the process of establishing the core set of data sets at the Institute, the primary responsibility of the incumbent will be data preparation and documentation. Going forward, the incumbent will also support the directors and other researchers in conducting quantitative research that will contribute to the Institute’s annual deliverables for the Province of New Brunswick.
