New Brunswick Social Policy Research Network

Cyberviolence Survey

The New Brunswick Association of Social Workers, the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre, and the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate are conducting a survey of young people between the ages of 16 and 19 to understand more about their experience of cyberviolence in New Brunswick.

Cyberviolence is harm caused by one individual or group to another using cyber-technology including the Internet, mobile phones, and social media. Cyberviolence includes any form of online victimization, such as bullying, harassment, non-consensual sharing of intimate photos, luring, and pornography.

The results of this survey will help them work with young people to develop strategies to prevent and eliminate cyberviolence as part of a two-year project funded by Status of Women Canada.

Please encourage any young men and women you know (age 16-19) to complete the survey at the following link: https://survey.psyc.unb.ca/cyberviolence.aspx. The deadline to complete the survey is March 15th2015.
