Dieppe, September 15, 2015 – 50 of Atlantic Canada’s most inspiring, entrepreneurial leaders under the age of 40 have been selected to attend 21inc’s 2015 Under 40 Summit this November 1st-6th, in Charlottetown, PEI. 21 inc is revealing via video those selected: 16 people from Nova Scotia, 16 from New Brunswick, 10 from Newfoundland and 8 from Prince Edward Island.

Lisa Hrabluk, of Wicked Ideas Media, is chair of 21inc’s Board of Directors. She is pleased with both the number of nominations, as well as the quality of this cohort of participants. “There is such an appetite in Atlantic Canada for events that bring entrepreneurial minds from across sectors together to feed the urge to generate new ideas and ways to assure prosperity of the region. We are very pleased with the interest shown for this Summit. It proves once again that 21 inc’s programs are powerful tools in individual and collective development in this region.”

By attending the Summit and the 2015 Ideas Festival, delegates will deepen their leadership competencies and join a growing network that will help them achieve even greater positive impact in the Atlantic region. Selection was based on 7 core competencies: strategic and visionary thinking, collaboration, building and maintaining relationships, clear communication, change champion, innovation, global citizen. The average age of delegates is 31, with a 50 / 50 representation of women and men.  Of those selected, 49% contribute in the private sector, 21% in not-for-profit organizations, 18% in the public sector and 12 % in academia. “A very large part of 21 inc network continue to attend our activities or to keep in touch. This is a tribute to how their lives have been touched by their experience with us. We are not creating leaders, we are enhancing leadership in Atlantic Canada,” explains Lisa Hrabluk. “Right after the Summit, we invite all leaders to join us in Charlottetown for our 2015 Ideas Festival.  It is the event to attend this Fall for inspiration and networking at its best.”
