With the current difficult socio-economic conditions that agencies from both the government and NGP sector are struggling to survive in, service demands are far out-pacing their capacity to deliver their core services. With no immediate improvement in sight for these challenging socio economic conditions we need to be working together for transformational change that will sustain us in meeting our community’s needs in this crucial area of service.

As part of their public education mandate, the NB/PEI Chapter of the Canadian Criminal Justice Association (CCJA NB/PEI) is hosting an educational workshop entitled Rethinking Evidence-based Practice: How to improve client outcomes with little or no money featuring guest speaker Dr. Ralph Serin, Professor emeritus at Carleton University.

Session Description: Beginning with a brief reminder about Evidence-based Practice, this presentation highlights several key areas where improving client outcomes cost little to no money. Specifically, the presentation will address issues of time management, fidelity of supervision, the importance of working relationships, and the assessment of dynamic risk, all with a focus on case planning and risk management. In addition, various public domain (free) job aids will be shared with participants for use with clients.
