Job opportunity: Research Analyst, NB Perinatal Health Program


Job Purpose:

The New Brunswick Perinatal Health Program is a provincial program working directly with all New Brunswick healthcare providers to determine and promote excellence in the provision of perinatal care. The program will assume a leadership role for perinatal health care in the province, striving to implement Canadian perinatal health practice standards across the province, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and responding to the education and professional needs of care-providers across the province. The program will foster the networking of perinatal stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, information specialists, researchers and others.

The New Brunswick Perinatal Health Program will oversee the management of a provincial perinatal database on behalf of all participating health care facilities and groups in the province.   Interpretation and distribution of perinatal health information from this database will be available, including producing reports, annual and standardized reports and data retrievals resulting from specific queries. It will identify gaps in the existing information and provide evidence- based analysis of provincial as well as local perinatal health statuses.

The New Brunswick Perinatal Health Program will draw on best practices and lessons learned at the national level and from similar programs in other provinces, including benefiting from research funding opportunities; vital to enhancing their capacity to strengthening the clinical outcomes of their respective populations.

The Research Analyst is responsible for activities surrounding dissemination of perinatal health-related data for the NB Perinatal Health Program and all of its component parts, including activities related to the production of standardized and ad hoc reports, linkages with external data source.
