Social Innovation Fredericton Enables Dialogue on Community Issues with New Online Engagement Tool

Fredericton, New Brunswick (June 7, 2016) – Social Innovation Fredericton is pleased to announce the launch of Speak Out Fredericton: www.speakoutfredericton.com an anonymous online tool for citizens of Fredericton to provide feedback to organizations seeking to engage the community. The first of its kind in the city, Speak Out Fredericton allows residents to share their opinion on issues ranging from poverty reduction to improvement of the Fredericton Exhibition grounds, to what we would like to see our new Mayor and Council focus on.

“We are excited about the launch of the Speak Out Fredericton web app,” says Social Innovation Executive Director Sandi MacKinnon, “Community engagement is so important. Town hall events and community meetings are an important part of the traditional engagement process but Speak Out Fredericton takes it to the next level and provides an opportunity for input to those who do not participate in the traditional processes and is a highly accessible online feedback tool.”

Speak Out Fredericton connects the user’s feedback with stakeholders and groups that have an interest in feedback from the community. The featured questions will change every 6 weeks, and Social Innovation Fredericton welcomes organizations that require engagement and feedback on community issues to use Speak Out Fredericton.

“We are pleased to be a part of the Speak Out Fredericton launch. We are very focused on community engagement and we understand the importance of meeting people where they are, and they are online“, said Fredericton Mayor Mike O’Brien, “I hope every person in the city, especially our youth, bookmarks Speak Out Fredericton.com, so that they can have a voice in creating the future of our city”.
