Three St. Thomas University alumni have received the prestigious Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships to fund their graduate study.

Maggie Fitzgerald, Billy Johnson, and Angela Priede, have each been awarded a $17,500 grant under the Social Science and Humanities Research Council program which supports students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in their undergraduate studies.

“Our students study in small classes, learning from professors who are acknowledged experts in their fields, and in a community that cares about teaching individual students. The success of these three graduates is another example of why that approach works best for students,” said Dr. Barry Craig, Vice President (Academic and Research).

“This is a great accomplishment for these graduates as it gives them a head-start on their careers as scholars. We can only look forward to their contributions to society,” he added.
