The NSERC Connect program provides targeted financial support to encourage post-secondary researchers at universities and/or colleges to connect with industry and other knowledge end-user communities in order to form new partnerships. The Connect program offers 3 levels of funding:
– Level 1 (up to $5,000 for 3 months) funds travel costs related to the development of new academic-industry partnerships in NSE research

– Level 2 ($1,000 to $5,000 for 12 months) funds regionally-oriented activities or events aimed at developing or promoting new academic-industry partnerships in NSE research, and student-industry training opportunities.

– Level 3 (up to $25,000 for 12 months) funds non-recurring, nationally-oriented research planning workshops aimed at building substantial new research collaborations between post-secondary researchers and partners in industry, government, not-for profit or other knowledge end-user groups

Jason Frenette of NSERC Atlantic will visit UNB Fredericton on June 13th to provide an overview of the program and discuss how it helps connect university researchers with external partners who have the knowledge and ability to use and commercialize their research. The presentation will address:
– Aims and requirements of the three distinct levels of Connect funding
– General application requirements
– Connect grant “Dos” and “Don’ts”

All researchers in NSE disciplines are encouraged to attend and ask questions.
