Social Return on Investment (SROI)

Tuesday, March 24th, 2015 – 1:00-2:30pm (Eastern)

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a framework for measuring and assigning a financial value to social and/or environmental outcomes that are otherwise not factored into traditional forms of return on investment analysis. The objective of SROI is to capture the full range of value created by a project’s activities, using monetary values to tell the story of social, environmental and economic outcomes. This method has recently been applied to calculate the social return of the Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention’s health promotion and disease prevention activities. Craig Joyce, an analyst with CCDP, will provide a brief introduction to the method, and review the Centre’s SROI results as applied in a public health context. The Multi-sectoral Partnership to Promote Healthy Living and Prevent Chronic Disease Program Right to Play – Play for Diabetes Prevention project will showcase its project and SROI results.

Multi-sectoral Partnerships

Thursday, March 26th, 2015 – 1:00-2:30pm (Eastern)

The webinar will present the Partnership and Strategies Division’s updated Letter of Intent (LOI) process to advance innovative multi-sectoral approaches to promote healthy living and prevent chronic disease; highlight how to apply to this funding opportunity; as well as showcase funded projects.
