Students for Democracy in NB: Electoral Reform in NB, How to Make Every Vote Count

DATE: NOV 4, 2013

TIME: 7:30 AM-9:00 AM

LOCATION: BRIAN MULRONEY HALL, FREDERICTON, NB, CANADA

Join us on our discussion of how we can make our electoral system work better for New Brunswickers and become more inclusive of everyone’s voice, not just the voice of the few.

Featuring David Coon, leader of the Green Party of NB; Paul Howe, Political Science Professor at UNB; and Cody Waite, co-author of the report “Proposals for Legislative Reform in NB”; we will talk about why New Brunswickers should care about electoral reform, and how it has an impact on other social issues in the province.  A kick-starter event for the petition pushing for proportional representation in New Brunswick, as outlined in Don Desserud and Cody Waite’s “Proposals for Legislative Reform in NB.

Hosted by Students for Democracy in NB, a Fredericton action group for youth who are interested in electoral reform and pushing for proportional representation. If we want to see change, we need a vote that makes a difference.
